Uclan's People & Planet society is part of a national network of university ans sxth form groups all campaigning on human rights and the environment.
The network is currently committed to five campaigns which are:
Go Green
Ditch Dirty Developments
Fairtrade
Redress Fashion
Treat Aids Now.
More information on all of these can be found at www.peopleandplanet.org
We recently attended the National Shared Planet Conference held in Sheffield. In March we have the forum to discuss our campaigns.
People and Planet members volunteer at various festivals so, nationally, there is plenty to get involved in.
Here at Uclan we are currently planning fundraisers for our group and the national network so we then have access to the resources to be able to run our campaigns.
If you are interested in running a particular campaign, come along to our meetings and we will be happy to support you.
For more information contact Sarah Burnham at SBurnham@uclan.ac.uk or supeopleandplanet@uclan.ac.uk
