Not for profit
UCLan Students’ Union is like many charities, building societies and membership organisations a ‘not for profit’ organisation. This means all our funds go ‘back to you’.
All the cash we generate from our shops, café and bars and 53 Degrees, along with grants we receive is spent running the Union for the members including a free Advice Centre, student sports clubs, societies and Give it a Go, the Bridge and your own radio, newspaper and TV station.
We don’t have shareholders and any surplus funds don’t sit idle in a bank account. All the Union’s money is invested in the Union’s future. This year, because of our success we were able to refurbish Source bar, redecorate and make improvements to 53 Degrees and fund the relaunching of the Union’s website. All our funds go ‘back to you’.
You will see and hear about ‘back to you’ all over the Union. That's because it’s so important to everything we do.
